“Specialty” distributors typically have deep product assortments in focused categories with strong customer service, technical support and product application knowledge that goes beyond that of the traditional wholesale channel.
Value-added business services are process-driven, have strong and defensible market positions within high growth end-markets, are highly capital efficient, and utilize some intellectual property / know-how that is difficult to replicate.
